TOURIST LANDSCAPE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMPLEX IN UPPER SVANETI
RECONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGES
2021
For the design, the Government of the Mestia Municipality allocated a territory located in the North of Georgia, near the village of Nakra in Upper Svaneti. The presented technical task was to form a tourist complex with residential, recreational and museum functions, which will be located along the tourist route. The route starts in the village of Nakra, and ends at an altitude of 2900 meters at the top of Tsalgmyl.
The main purpose of the design of the complex was the reconstruction of 7 traditional Svan villages that now exist in a ruined form - Herkhvashi, Tavrali, Jukhlan, Chubari, Kihuldashi, Lashhrashi, Tsaleri. The complex also includes the territory of high-altitude huts, the upper zipline station with a cable car, and an observation deck.
To recreate the historical environment, an analysis of the traditional Svan architecture and the urban composition of settlements was carried out.
The project used SketchUp, Autodesk Revit, Adobe Photoshop
